Picking St Simons Island as a location for their engagement session couldn’t have been an easier choice for Lacy and Martin. Working in the Savannah wedding industry, Lacy knew she wanted backgrounds for their photos that were both different from her typical stomping grounds as well as locations there were immensely personal. From a fire station that Martin works at, to church grounds full of family memories, to the rocky beaches of St Simons – every location was so perfectly suited to them!
We started our shoot at Martin’s fire station. When Jason was a little kid, he told him mom that he wanted to be a fire truck when he grew up. Yep, a fire truck. So to be able to photograph around the station, with a fire truck? Jason was beyond giddy!
We traveled down to St Simons Island to explore the grounds of the historic Christ Church Episcopal. Lacy and her family regularly had their family portraits taken on these grounds.
I loved shooting here so much! The gorgeous spanning oak trees, draped with Spanish moss were just asking to be photographed!
Lastly, we ended the night on the south beach of St Simons. The setting sun created a perfect gold backdrop for us.
Goodness, we loved photographing these two SO MUCH. You can feel their love for one another just pouring out of these images.
